ERG's Zeerust Fluorspar project hosts the world's largest known fluorspar resource by mineral content. The shallow flat-lying ore body is suited for large scale, low cost opencast mining. Prefeasibility tests confirmed the feasibility of producing 97% (CaF2) grade acidspar. The fluorite contained within the stromatolitic dolomite formations promise to yield a very pure product with few contaminants. The mining right spans ~22000 ha with final mine designs underway.
